A First Look at the 2025 Ford Mustang

If you’re looking for a modern sports car designed to turn heads at every corner, you can’t go wrong with the 2025 Ford Mustang. This year’s lineup has something for everyone, including EcoBoost performance for the laid-back drivers seeking an efficient ride and track-ready spirit in the GT and Dark Horse models.

Inspired by the original Mustang but redesigned for modern drivers, the 2025 Mustang is bound to become a modern classic. You can choose between nine trim levels, with select models offered in both fastback and convertible body styles. The fastback models pair aggressive looks with performance exterior features, including large 18-inch wheels for enhanced traction and signature LED headlights for improved illumination and enhanced aesthetics.

Neutral or bold color options and available hood and body decals make it easy to customize this sports car to your liking. The convertible models replace the standard roof with a removable soft top and boast active noise cancellation technology, allowing you to enjoy quiet, relaxing rides when the top is open.

Engine Options

Ford offers three engine options for its new Mustang, including a standard 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 that produces 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this engine delivers spirited acceleration when needed and impressive fuel economy ratings, with EPA estimates of 26 MPG combined. A 5.0L Coyote V8 engine is standard on the GT models and provides 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.

This engine pairs with a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching for improved drive control and performance, especially at high speeds. An optional active exhaust system can boost this engine’s power to 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. Standard on the Dark Horse models, a modified Coyote engine pairs with a TREMEC six-speed manual transmission and performance dampers, providing 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque.

Luxe Interior Features

With room for four riders and plenty of modern technologies, the new Mustang is one of the most fun-to-drive sports cars. The standard cloth bucket seats boast position adjustments for optimized comfort, while the 50/50 split-fold rear bench allows you to expand the cargo space if needed.

The SYNC 4 infotainment system comes with a 13.2 center touchscreen that is easy to operate from the driver’s seat and boasts voice commands, smartphone integration, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability with FordPass. SiriusXM and a 9-speaker audio system are optional.
